About the role

About Volumental Volumental is a FitTech™ company used by footwear brands and retailers, matching people with shoes that truly fit through 3D scanning and machine learning. Our vision is "a world without sizes, where every body fits". We work with brands like New Balance, Red Wing, Fleet Feet, and Vivobarefoot across 3,000+ stores in 60 countries, with 60M+ foot scans collected, one of the world's largest datasets of its kind. We've always been an AI company at our core. Today, that extends beyond the product into how we build, using AI agents and strong self-serve tooling to move faster from idea to production. Where you fit in Every scan in every one of those stores, and every recommendation we give, depends on infrastructure that has to work while a shopper is standing in front of a clerk. Our platform runs on Kubernetes on Google Cloud, is managed as code, is deployed through GitOps, and is observed through Grafana. What we’re looking for is someone who treats that platform as a product: one our developers can self-serve on, that holds up when things go wrong, and that is ready for new kinds of workloads. This is a hands-on Platform Engineer role. Most days you'll be shipping and running infrastructure with Terraform, Helm and ArgoCD, keeping an eye on our systems through Grafana, and building tools in Go that let developers get what they need without waiting on anyone. You'll also spend time explaining technical tradeoffs and writing docs that others can act on. AI is changing the industry, and we see it as an opportunity to empower people. By automating toil and mechanical tasks across the organisation, people can focus on the architectural, novel, and creative work. You will be right at the centre of this transformation, enabling not only yourself and your team’s work, but ensuring that the company can leverage AI and accelerate as a whole. Things you'll do: Ship and run production infrastructure on Kubernetes and GCP, managed as code with Terraform and deployed with Helm and ArgoCD Define SLOs and build monitoring and alerting in Grafana that tells us when stores and shoppers are actually affected Take part in on-call, lead incident response, and run postmortems that turn into real fixes Build tools in Go that let developers self-serve on environments, deployments and access Explain technical tradeoffs to engineers, product managers and leadership, and write documentation others can act on Leverage AI agents to compress routine work, redirecting the time saved into reliability and platform improvements Help strengthen how we handle access, secrets, certificates and image security alongside the wider team We are excited about you because: You have 3+ years of experience running production infrastructure in an SRE, DevOps or Platform role You've been on-call for production systems on Kubernetes and a major cloud provider, ideally GCP, and have led incident response and postmortems You can set up SLO-based monitoring and alerting, and you're comfortable managing infrastructure as code with Terraform You write clean, maintainable, cloud-native code in at least one language such as Go or Python You have solid systems knowledge and troubleshoot methodically across the stack You're comfortable with ambiguity and enjoy finding the right problem and seeing it through Bonus - Don't let these stop you from applying, but please let us know if you have experience with: Deploying and running AI agent workloads and tool servers (such as MCP), with sandboxing, rate limiting and observability of agent actions Security: identity and access management, authentication (OAuth/OIDC, SSO), certificate and TLS/mTLS management, secrets handling, network hardening, vulnerability management, and image hardening and scanning Compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2 or GDPR Database operations and migrations Running workloads across multiple cloud providers or regulated regions What we can offer you: Personal learning budget and access to coaching Opportunity to work with a great team of 20+ nationalities in our English-speaking office Occupational pension at ITP1 level Flexible Public Holidays Policy Options Program Parental pay top-up Wellness allowance Flexible work policy (at least 3 days a week from our Stockholm office) The monthly compensation range for this role in Stockholm is 52,000-66,000 SEK. Actual compensation will depend on level, experience, and skillset as assessed in the interview process. This is a full-time position based at our Stockholm headquarters. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds! If this role excites you but you don't meet every qualification, we encourage you to apply - we'd love to hear from you. Feel free to include a link to your GitHub or anything you've built or operated that you're proud of. How we hire We use generative AI to assist the people running our recruitment process, for example in preparing interviews. People are in the loop at every stage, and every decision about your application is made by a human.
